About me

Hi, my name is Sophie Marks!
  I am the head trainer and operator of Kindred K9s, where my passion for animals and training comes to life every day. What started as a small pet-sitting and dog-walking side job quickly grew into a lifelong commitment to helping dogs and their owners build stronger, happier relationships.

 

Over the years, I have dedicated myself to learning everything I can about animal behavior and dog training. I have completed several animal psychology and dog training courses, gaining a deep understanding of canine learning, communication, and behavior. I’ve trained a wide range of dogs—from energetic puppies to task-trained Service Dogs—giving me experience with dogs of all temperaments, breeds, and training needs.

 

In addition to training, I have spent years working hands-on through pet sitting and dog walking, which has allowed me to gain valuable experience in daily care, exercise, and management of animals in all stages of life. These experiences have deepened my ability to read animal body language, understand their unique needs, and build trust quickly.

 

My dedication to the craft has also led me to participate in competitive dog shows, where I proudly earned five first-place ribbons. Beyond formal training and competitions, I have spent countless hours working directly with dogs to refine my skills in obedience, behavior modification, and service dog training.

Animals and dog training aren’t just my profession—they are my true passion. I am committed to continually learning, improving, and providing the highest level of care and guidance. My goal is not only to train dogs, but also to empower owners with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed, creating a lasting bond between them and their four-legged companions.
